We fabricate casting mould incorporating a 225 mm VCP (Vitrified Clay Pipe) pipe at the bottom. The mould was designed specifically to use with precast chambering, allowing the concrete to be formed accurately while accommodating the pipe connection at the base.
Designed for the Casting Requirement
While setting up, worker positions the 225 mm VCP pipe at the bottom of the mould as part of the final cast structure. Rather than using a conventional mould configuration, the mould was fabricated around the pipe dimensions to ensure proper alignment and a clean interface during casting.
This type of arrangement is particularly useful when the finished concrete component needs to incorporate a pipe opening or connection directly into the casting.
Custom Fabrication
The mould was fabricated to suit the required dimensions and site application. Key considerations during fabrication included:
- Accurate positioning of the 225 mm VCP pipe
- Proper alignment between the pipe and mould
- Sufficient rigidity to maintain the mould shape during casting
- Easy access for concrete placement and subsequent demoulding
- A suitable surface finish to help achieve a consistent cast
Custom mould fabrication allows the design to be adjusted according to the actual project requirements instead of forcing the application to fit a standard mould.
